Announcement: The HDR Creators Handbook

I’m a pretty bad procrastinator, but I just might start work on a tiny handbook which I’m considering calling The HDR Creators Companion – a compilation of the best bits of the thousands of posts I’ve written on the subject over the past six years. And just as I’ve always done, I will not be shying away from criticism of cinematographers, colorists and others where justified, since it’s not in anyone’s interest to shower flattery on those who are spreading misinformation, regardless of their standing in the filmmaking community – like saying that HDR will burn your retinas, that humans have been obsessed with making low dynamic range images since time immemorial or that HDR has no aesthetic or creative implications whatsoever. What it won’t be is a guide to the best settings in Resolve on a Mac, which, as insane as it sounds, had not been done properly until I uploaded my own video tutorials a few months ago.
