To the best of my knowledge, nobody in the online filmmaking community has discussed or tested the Rotolight Neo, even though it is marketed to both photographers and videographers. On the other hand, small, rectangular, credit card-sized lighting solutions by companies like Aputure seem to be very popular. I’m guessing it’s because the Neo is quite expensive, and the only reason I ended up purchasing one myself is because there was a special offer through Jason Lanier’s website. I’ll grant that even with the discount, the light is still pretty expensive, but it seems to be well made, and color rendition appears to be quite good.
