Who wouldn’t like to easily add some lens flares, prism bokeh, light leaks, dust particles or other effects to their HDR videos? Back in the day, if you were an Adobe or Final Cut user, even a novice could quickly throw on some assets or video templates and get really nice results. Rocketstock offers a bunch of effects, many of them free, and they don’t look like garbage, either! They also have a superb collection of 35 creative LUTs, totally free. The only problem being, none of their products are compatible with Resolve and none are HDR-compatible. Searching the Internet, it looks like a ton of professional looking assets run hundreds of dollars and many are subscription-based models. So we reached out to Toolfarm, an online third-party reseller of that kind of stuff, and asked if they had any Rec.2020 ST2084 compatible plugins that work in Resolve and that wouldn’t break the bank. They sent us a link for a free trial of Continuum by Boris FX and we’re hoping to try it out over the weekend. And thanks to everyone for your feedback and suggestions, helping us to make the Daejeon Chronicles the single most comprehensive and up-to-date source of information about HDR on the world wide web!
