While out on a shoot yesterday morning, we noticed that the pan control on our Gitzo 1545TA went missing. Sad day indeed, because the refractory knob set us back $35.00, or a month’s worth of morning coffee. For some reason, the knob does not tighten down as much as the others, so that’s something to be aware of. When originally purchasing the tripod, we asked the salesperson to Loctite the feet, as we’d heard those also had a tendency to stray. Aside from that, it’s been one of the most enjoyable tripods we’ve used; and the reason why we’ve left our Zhiyun Crane Plus in the closet for the past three months. The shop also graciously offered to inspect our trusty Sigma 85mm f/1.4 DG DN that months ago fell on a hard tile floor, so we returned the following day and after checking it with Sigma software for around twenty minutes they gave it a clean bill of health.
