I almost always shoot Cine2, but a question from a forum member over at DPReview about noisy footage at ISO 3200 inspired me to whip out my a7 III and try out S-Log2 for only the second time in two years. I dragged the clip into the Final Cut Pro timeline, threw on Paul Leeming’s LUT and did a quick color correction with a mask to pretty up my blotchy pink skin just a touch. The tee shirt’s just a wee bit blown-out, but aside from that, not too bad. Here’s the result.

And this one has been graded with the RocketStock Domingo 145 LUT.
There are a whole lotta ‘ifs’ but should the a7s III have 10-bit 4:2:2, S-Log could very well be what I’ll be shooting to make HDR videos.
